Soapies Simple Cream Creator (SSCC)

Purchase Now!!

INCI Name: Hydroxyethylacrylate/sodium acryloyldimethyltaurate copolymer and squalane (plant origin) and polysorbate 60

Develop your own fresh formulas including lotions, creams and butters that melt on contact with the skin using this room temperature emulsifier/thickening/stabilizing agent. Perfect for the use of heat sensitive ingredients and needs no neutralization.

See the guidelines below for some ideas and the recipes for a starter example.

Lotion

  • 76% Water (distilled)
  • 20% Oils
  • 3% SSCC base
  • 1% Preservative
  • .08% Glycerin (liquid)
  • FO/EO (to taste)

    Body Butter

  • 65% Water (distilled)
  • 30% Butters/Oils (higher amounts of butters will contribute to a thicker cream)
  • 5% SSCC base
  • 1% Preservative
  • .08% Glycerin (liquid)
  • FO/EO (to taste)

You can use any combination of oils and butters to make your own creations. Just keep in mind each oil’s shelf life (ie: hemp, wheat germ, etc) and remember to use only distilled water. A higher percentage of butters will create a thicker cream/butter as well (please see the example recipes).

This is really very simple. Unbelievably simple!! If your lotion is too thick, add water, if it is too thin, add more SSCC. Blending at room temp means there is no hurry to bottle your product before it cools and thickens too much. You will know exactly how thick it will be as your finished product BEFORE you bottle it!

Simple Quick & Easy Lotions and Creams with Soapies' Simple Cream Creator (SSCC) (Note: These recipes are for guideline usage and figures have been rounded to make measuring easier. These recipes have been tested and used with the weighed ounces shown. Personal preferences may require adjusting amounts to fit your needs. ** In our Body Butter test batch, we decided we wanted the body butter thicker- so we added .3 oz to the recipe using the 5% SSCC rate. For all you math buffs- that did happen to change the overall percentage, but we have left it as it was originally for the example.)

Melt any butters WELL (you don’t want any grainy-ness left, it will feel like shards). Cool slightly by adding additional oils. Heat small portion of water well enough to dissolve citric acid (if using). Add Soapies’ Simple Cream Creator to the oils/melted butters, then immediately add water. Use stick blender to mix until thoroughly emulsified. You will see the action immediately. There is no urgency to mix it- if you get to mix it 5-10 minutes later- that is just fine! If you are not happy with the consistency add more SSCC to make thicker, more water to make thinner. Zap again with stick blender. If you are happy with consistency, add glycerin, preservatives and FO/EO. VOILA! Room temp lotions and creams. Spoon, pipe or smoosh into your container preference. ;-)
