Oatmeal...(made with a large percentage of oatmeal) Oatmeal soap is known to exfoliate the skin along with a great moisturizing lather. This oatmeal soap is made with the opaque soap base and is full of oatmeal. It has so much oatmeal that it even has a sort of "crunchy oat" look! Warning: Oatmeal soap base needs to be heated very slowly over a small flame. You must also put a small amount of water or glycerine in the bottom of the pot when melting or remelting due to the large amount of oatmeal. The oatmeal can burn; give off a foul odor, or both.
Adding Fragrances/Essential Oils
Always start with the smallest amount and move up from there. You can always add more, but you can't remove what you've already added!
Fragrance Oil start at 1% and move up
Essential Oil start at .5% and move up
We do not advise adding over 2% fragrance
You can add up to 5% of oils and butters to the soap base. If you see a decrease in lather you will know that too much has been added to the soap. Each oil and butter is different so you would need to test them as you go.
