Soapies now has 3 types of Soap Cutters for you to choose from!!

Our Crinkle Cutter and Straight Cutter ar great in may applications, CP Soap, M&P, etc.

We also have our exclusive and famous Simple Soothings Wood Soap Cutter for your logs of soap!!

Made by hand in the Heartland of the USA and then shipped,
by American Postal Service, to the stunning deserts of the American Southwest

Why is our soap cutting system the best? - Wire cutter is made of hardwood Maple - Cutting base is made of select quality, knot-free pine - Cutting base has multiple layers of wood finish applied as a final step. This gives our cutter an attractive look and also assists you with an easy clean-up. - Screwed together (not nailed) for extra durability. - One knob adjustable stop allows you to cut straight bars of consistent thickness

Care and use of your Simple Soothings Soap Cutter

Adjust thickness of your cut: Loosen the nut on the stop block, slide your soap log up to the stop block and adjust to the desired thickness, tighten nut.
Tip: If you frequently make cuts of different thicknesses you can use a pen to make a mark on the base so you can quickly change to different cut sizes.

Adjusting wire tension: Turn the tuner knob to add tension to the cutting wire. Tighten until the wire starts to make a high-pitched note when strung with a fingernail. If you make a cut and have problems getting the wire all the way though the bottom of the soap you need to add a little more tension.
Tip: Avoid over tightening the wire to prevent breaking the wire. You may also want to loosen the wire a little bit if you are not going to be using the cutter for a while to help extend the life of the wire.

Cutting your soap: Slide soap to the stop, take your cutter angling it slightly towards the cutter so as you cut though the soap the wire stays in contact with the guides ensuring a straight cut. Once you make the cut remove the bar of soap, slide the log to stop and repeat.
Tip: If you want to use the cutter to trim an edge or end of a bar, stand it up vertically against the side and make the cut. This produces a cleaner cut than does laying the bar flat on the bottom of the base.

Cleaning your cutter and base: The cutter may have soap on the wire from use. This is easily wiped off with a paper towel. If you do need to wash it avoid getting water on the tuner. The base can be cleaned with a damp cloth but dry immediately. Avoid soaking in water.

Replacing the cutter wire: The wire on the cutter will occasionally break and need to be replaced. The wire used is a 22-gauge guitar string available at any music store for approximately $1.00. We can also sell you replacement wires for $1.00 each plus .50 shipping. You want to be sure to get a plain wire not a wound wire. A wound wire will leave a texture in your soap when cutting. To replace the wire you will need a small pair of wire cutters and small pair of pliers or needle nose pliers. One end of the guitar string has a brass loop tied to it, slide the small washer onto the wire first. Run the wire through the hole and then wrap the wire counter-clockwise once pulling tight as you go. Take the end of the wire and slide it through the hole in the tuner arm and pull tight with a pair of pliers. Tighten the wire and then trim the excess using a wire cutter.
Tip: After installing the wire you will have a piece left over that is long enough to string your cutter again. To use this piece of wire you need to tie a washer onto the end. The spare wire you received with this cutter was done using this method. This can sometimes be a little difficult to do so you can determine for yourself if it is worth your time.
